I got the call yesterday, that I thought would never come:
Marijean Jaggers asking me to be Blog of the Week on CBS19!
I'm not kidding, it seriously never occurred to me that I would attract any notice with my little, simple, stream-of-consciousness sort of blog...but hey, why not: I'll take it!
So I faced the question every woman dreads:
No, not "what shall I wear". That was an easy one: I'll wear something black (because I hear black is slimming).
My question is: Curly or Straight ?
Yes, the all important "how should I wear my hair" ?
You see, I 'm genetically predisposed towards curly unruliness, but I grew up in the seventies, so I really just want to look like Marlo Thomas in "That Girl". Enter the "flat iron", one of industry's greatest gifts to women and the exact antithesis to the curling iron, a device I have never personally required. Needless to say, in the end, I settled on "wavy with just a little straightening to frame the face" which will either turn out be be a brilliant, effective compromise or indecision at its worst. All this for some second reel footage that will likely never see daylight.
Thank to Marijean for this great honor. I am totally thrilled and my kids are very impressed, though I did not manage to "mention them on TV" as they hoped I might!
