David Letterman said on his show on Thursday that he had been the victim of an extortion attempt over charges of sexual affairs with staff members, claims that he conceded were true.

My points:
1. Does anybody really think this is going to hurt Letterman's ratings? No.
2. Who, in the year 2009, blackmails one of the highest paid men in television and only asks for two million dollars? That is downright bizarre.
3. As horrified as I am by cheating and as badly as I feel for Dave's family, I can't help but be pleased that a guy that awkward and doofy is getting some.
