PCA Celebrates Women in the Arts: Eleanor Henderson

Eleanor Henderson, Novelist & Short Story Writer

Eleanor Henderson is a novelist and short story writer who came to Charlottesville in 2003 to get her MFA in fiction from UVA. Anyone lucky enough to have read some of her writing would agree that it has a way of sticking with you, which is why it’s not surprising that one of her stories called, “The Farms” was included in the Best American Short Stories 2009.

It won’t be long before Eleanor’s boundless talent reaches an even wider audience. Her first novel, Ten Thousand Saints, was just sold to Harper Collins for publication next year.

Eleanor lives in Crozet with her husband, Aaron, and their toddler, Nico. A devoted mother, a gifted writer, and a wry and funny friend, Eleanor will be missed when she moves to Ithaca, New York, where she recently accepted a teaching position.
